Meeting Billionaire Bill Bartmann ~

billbartmann Wow, It is an interesting thing to meet a man who is the 25th wealthiest person in the country.

Bill Bartmann who has earned so many awards for business and entrepreneurship has seen and been through it all.

Homeless and in the circus at 14, in a gang at 16, alcoholic by 17.

Then in 1998 he (and his wife Cathy) made 100 million in a business he started from his kitchen table with a 13k loan.

Then he lost eveything when his partner went to prison for insider trading.

Consequesntly, he was indicted (later acquitted) and spent months fighting the charges and 4 years with all his assets frozen which led to bankruptcy.

Now Bill has a 1 million dollar bet with Steve Forbes (which will go to charity) that he will be the first man in the history of man to get to the Billionaire status twice!

After listening to him for 2 hours I no longer want to be a billionaire, LOL!

Actually that was never one of my goals but now if the billions start coming my way I’m running the other direction.

Listening to Bill was a great beginning to my week in LA for Guerilla Business School with Peak Potentials.

Below is a list of Bills 10 Steps to Overcome Failure
1. Get Help ~ no one over comes failure by themselves. Seek out help from Faith, Family and Friends
2. Acknowledge and Admit it ~ Stuff happens, take responsibility
3. Quantify it Accurately ~ See it for what it “truly” is, don’t exaggerate the negative
4. Compare to your previous history ~ What have you over come in the past? make a list of your success and failures to examine
5. forgive those involved ~ Both them and yourself
6. Learn from it ~ You paid the price, get the education. Then reframe your failure as experience.
7. Find your Personal Motivator ~ Both positive, for the kids, and the negative, prove to the naysayers and Refuse to quit!
8. Get a role model ~ Find your insptiation, in another but more importantly in yourself!
9. Get up and get going ~ Listen to your own voice and have the rubber butt syndrome!
10. Keep Going ~ An object in motion tends to stay in motion. Persistence pays!
